At present, electronic sphygmomanometer is gradually replacing the traditional mercury sphygmomanometer as the choice of sphygmomanometer in the market. In the process of updating and iteration, the electronic sphygmomanometer always keeps one component, that is, the pressure sensor.
In the measurement process of electronic sphygmomanometer, firstly inflate the inflatable cuff to make it have enough pressure to prevent blood from flowing in the local aorta. As the pressure gradually releases, when blood begins to flow through the arteries, the measured pressure is systolic blood pressure, which can also monitor pulse rate. Continue to slowly deflate, gradually reducing the pressure inside the cuff. When the cuff pressure drops to or slightly below the diastolic pressure, blood flow becomes unobstructed again, and the measured value is equivalent to the diastolic pressure of the heart. Therefore, a complete measurement cycle was completed. Throughout the entire process, pressure sensors play an important role in digital sensing. The signals generated by pressure sensors are modulated by operational amplifiers or instrument amplifiers, and then sent to ADC (analog-to-digital converter). Then, by cooperating with different types of sensors and monitors, the measurement results are displayed on the LCD screen through appropriate algorithms.
Working principle of electronic sphygmomanometer
For the pressure monitoring in the design of electronic sphygmomanometer, at present, a separate pressure bridge sensor is used to convert the pressure signal into a resistance voltage signal, which needs to be amplified by a complex signal conditioning circuit before analog digital conversion. Therefore, there are strict requirements for the accuracy, power consumption, and data output of pressure sensors. At the same time, because the electronic sphygmomanometer is a portable household instrument, the volume and weight of the built-in pressure sensor also become important parameters of the pressure sensor.
When using the electronic sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure, you can independently analyze the blood pressure value through the internal technology of the electronic sphygmomanometer without external human intervention. However, some users found some errors between the electronic sphygmomanometer and the mercury sphygmomanometer after using them for a period of time. The measurement result of the electronic sphygmomanometer will be slightly higher than that of the mercury sphygmomanometer. In fact, it is found through practice that the measurement error is not the problem of the electronic sphygmomanometer itself, but some wrong operations in the use process.
Misunderstandings of using electronic sphygmomanometer include
1. Measurement time is different
If you want to accurately measure blood pressure, you can choose to measure it from 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, because according to scientific research, blood pressure levels are relatively high during this time period. If the blood pressure at this time does not reach the range of hypertension, it can be concluded that the patient as a whole does not suffer from hypertension. Of course, if you want to measure your blood pressure every day to observe its changes, you can actually judge your blood pressure changes by measuring it at the same time every day;
2. Inaccurate measurement method
Firstly, before taking measurements, ensure that the entire body is in a relatively relaxed state. Before taking the measurement, sit quietly for 10 minutes to calm down and then take a blood pressure measurement. Secondly, in the process of measuring blood pressure, be sure to make the cuff height of the electronic sphygmomanometer level with your heart. But the bottom of the cuffs should be 1-2cm higher than the elbow, and attention should also be paid to the tightness of the cuffs. A width of one finger should be reserved.
